Transcription: The procession of the Santa Simana Festival in Seville takes place on Palm Sunday during Easter week and is one of the most important religious occasions of the year. The floats carry effigies of Christ and the Virgin Mary and are led through the streets by priests known as Nazareños. Each float weighs over 5,000 pounds and is carried by a group of around 30 men. A foreman follows on behind shouting encouragement. This is important as the floats must be carried for 12 hours until, lit by candles, reach the town cathedral in the evening.
